There’s no doubt that the best place to go to find out what’s going to be the hottest floral trends is the star-studded RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
It’s the floral catwalk of the year, the world stage for upcoming designers, and THE place to discover the most quintessential blooms.
I had the pleasure of spending a few days at the show, including press day which was attended by the likes of Piers Morgan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jennifer Saunders, Jerry Hall and Amy Willerton to name just a few.
So what are the floral trends you’ll be seeing this year and next? Well THE colour of the 2014 RHS Chelsea Flower Show was purple. It was everywhere.
The youngest ever gold medalist at the show Hugo Bugg displayed purple blooms in his garden….
It wasn’t just Hugo Bugg though, the Homebase Garden showed off purple flowers and heather, the Laurent-Perrier show garden was a mixture of purple, deep emerald and stone surfaces, the M&G garden designed by Cleve West had, yes you guessed it, a mixture of deep and dusty purple blooms.
Here are just some of the examples found at the show…
Guernsey’s own Raymond Evison picked up his 26th gold medal for his clematis display with purples, creams and blues set against a ‘dining room blue’ backdrop. It’s clear to see why Raymond Evison’s clematis is a favourite of the Queen…
If your not into purple, what other floral trends can you expect to see this year which you can adapt to fit your wedding? Just take a look at these for some inspiration….
